Health Education Promotions and Classes

The Jackson County Health Department Community Health Educators promote and encourage healthy behaviors through educational and community-based programs that are designed to prevent disease and injury, improve health, and enhance quality of life.

In collaboration with community organizations/groups, health educators, each with their own areas of expertise, assess the needs of the communities served and develop/implement programs to address those needs effectively.

Services Include (free-of-charge):

  • Health education to school districts for students, parents, and staff
  • Smoking Prevention and Cessation for teens & adults
  • Teen-mentoring program to promote wellness and healthy life choices
  • Seniors exercise and fitness programs
  • Chronic-disease management
