Meet our current Interns at the Jackson County Health Department!
Tiffany Green – Kaplan University
Tiffany Green is a graduate student from Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She is currently working on her Master’s in Public Health degree at Kaplan University. Tiffany received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. She has been an intern with the Jackson County Health Department for the Fall, 2016 semester. During her work at the Jackson County Health Department, Tiffany has assisted in the creation of a workforce development plan. Tiffany plans to pursue a career in Epidemiology after graduation.
Eryen Nelson – University of Kansas Medical Center
Eryen Nelson is currently finishing her Master’s in Public Health degree at the University of Kansas medical Center with an anticipated graduation date of May 2017. Eryen’s emphasis in the program is Social and Behavioral Health with interests in obesity treatment and prevention. Eryen has been working with the Jackson County Health Department for the Fall, 2016 semester on projects such as the 2016 Life Expectancy Report, Healthy Eating Classes, as well as other health education activities and initiatives. Eryen is from Kansas City originally and loves working in the Metro area to help promote health. In her free time, Eryen loves traveling, cooking, reading and running with her husband (Trevor) and corgi (Max).
