Celebrating Safely On NYE

We may not be able to gather together in big crowds to watch the ball drop, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun ringing in 2021.

The new year is just around the corner, but the same tried-and-true methods of COVID-19 prevention still apply. The safest way to celebrate is with your own household. However, if you’re gathering with people outside of your household, be sure to:

  • Wear a mask
  • Stay 6 feet apart
  • Gather outdoors or in a well-ventilated space
  • Wash your hands
  • Get your flu shot
  • Stay home if sick or exposed

Some people may have received their COVID-19 vaccine by NYE. However, these individuals should still practice the same precautions as others during this time.

Consider Other Activities

  • Celebrate virtually. Plan activities that you can coordinate virtually, such as watching movies together, playing online games, or making your own virtual countdown. Get creative and have fun!
  • Party with those you live with. There’s plenty you can do with just the people you live with! From a dance party to a board game marathon, plan out activities for your small crew to enjoy.
  • Do some of your favorite things. Whether it’s picking up takeout from your favorite restaurant or reading the latest bestseller, take the opportunity to indulge in some safe self-care.
